Year 2008

This will be my last post for the year 08. Its been a year of ups and downs. as usual..
But maybe, just maybe.. i can conclude this year as an ALMOST eventful one.. With a lot of memories to keep..

Year started with me as the backstage crew of my church countdown service, and murtabak at simpang. After that is the end of SIP at end January at CAAS. Following on returning to school to finish my final Module and my last project. Everyday heading down to sch biz lab and library to dig for Infomation. i remembered i did on Singapore Flyer, F1 and others. Even at the NBL going to the top most level that look so Harry Potter with Kengkee.

Next Big thing Before official Graduation from TP, was of course Synergy Leader Camp, as a programmer for the 3rd year in a row. Looking back, really thank God for the memories and fun, and every friends in Program com since my year 1 till now, and all the BSC Peeps. Winning every Week Zero Cup. Going chalets, BBQs, outings, and birthday celebrations..

After that will be the Official Graduation Ceremony from Temasek Polytechnic. Wearing the Graduation Robe, Receiving my Diploma, and that marked a Full Stop to my studying and polytechnic life.

On 9th June went to East Coast food centre with some proggers and on 10th June watch Kungfu panda and went for Nightwalk in school.. Thats my 21st birthday spent, thanks to proggers, and frances also. From July onwards was the tedious Job finding, and resumes sending which was to no avail. Of course, picking up Japanese language as my 3rd language on my own, begun that period.

Getting Employed finally by A Japanese FnB chain in End November. And Finally the Annual Christmas Gathering which was held at Jacky's Place this year, was fun fun fun, as usual, me again the guitarist.. and other gatherings. 29th Dec-Monday, which is in a few hours time, will be the Step into the Society already. Hope everything goes well.

This year of course was filled with Toils and Joys too,
thru toils we learn new things, and experiences, be it painful, frustrating, joyful and all others feelings. And thru toils and pain, Learning to pick oneself up, and enjoy the full extent of out daily lives and finding joy in little things we do.. This was also one year where i recognized the importance of friendship, and independence.

Some Side-tracks of this year, will be like going to NDP as one of the co-segment incharge. Although halfway smthg happened and i dropped out and left. I still got to know few good friends thru that time and is glad we are still good friends till today. Val's leaving for Phil in pursuit of her studies, Lewis and wen Engagement with me as the helper.. Thanks lewis and wen! Lewis and wen's leaving for Dallas also. Recovering from relationship, and get to think thoroughly thru all of it, and using that experience to help people now.

Going for SIA interview TWICE, and getting rejected TWICE at stage 1.. Yes, Im gonna try again this year.. It was for the sake of the money then, but right now it is my dream JOB.. Watching Dramas, yes, I been watching Japanese Dramas everyday for almost the next half of the year, and it wasn't just pure entertainment.. Some stories and lines did really struck me, and made my thinking change and thus the positivity i have to Life today. Meeting ups with proggers whom more specifically expressed, my Friends for prolly the rest of my live, are always good, and encouraging. seeing how each other stepping into our own lives yet being close, as if it was back in school. I said 1 sentence during the 1 of the many debriefs in my year to prog : "I love prog because of the friends, because the friendship in Program, is Real"

Anyway a summary of what i watched this year:

SINGAPORE: The world's largest observation wheel, the Singapore Flyer grounded to a halt at about 4.15pm on Tuesday, leaving over 100 people trapped.

Rescue operations are underway and one by one, they are being lifted through the hatch on top of each capsule, secured with a winch and lowered to the ground. At least 10 passengers have been rescued this way as at 10:30pm by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers and a private rescue firm engaged by Singapore Flyer.

A passenger who was stuck in one of the capsules said there was a sudden jerk before the wheel stopped turning. An announcement a few minutes later said there was a technical error.Mdm Lim Boon Siang, a passenger stuck in one of the capsules, said: "About 4.30pm or 4.15pm, after we passed the maximum altitude, it suddenly jerked to a stop, and then for a good five to ten minutes, we waited.

"We thought that this could be something normal. And then there was a message that came in that said that it has stopped temporary. Everybody was calm, but initially the air-con was switched off, so it was very hot due to the evening sun. They opened up the air ventilator, and the air-con if I am not wrong is working now." She said there were about 10 other people, including children, in her cabin.

When contacted, a Singapore Flyer spokesperson confirmed the incident, adding that at the time of the incident, 23 capsules were occupied by about 173 passengers. The spokesperson said: "Their safety was never at risk while they were in the capsules. Every capsule is equipped with an intercom system which is linked to the control room - for passengers and the control room personnel to communicate.

"Our staff promptly informed passengers of the situation and reassured them that measures were being taken to fix the technical problem. There are also surveillance cameras installed in every capsule for the operations team to monitor what is going on in all capsules."

Those still trapped have been told over the intercom that food and drink will be sent to them.

A ride on the 165-metre tall wheel, about 42 storeys high, typically takes half an hour and each capsule can take up to 28 people.

Since the Flyer became operational in February this year, this is the third time it has encountered problems.

The last time a technical glitch occurred was just three weeks ago, on December 4. The wheel was stuck for nearly five hours due to extreme weather conditions and some 70 people were affected.

In July, the Flyer stopped due to a minor fault in the braking system. - CNA/vm

very interesting.. i learnt a few cooking techniques and ways..
and matching ingredients i never thought that will go well..
and it just looks so tasty.. im gonna try it out one day..

everything they do in kitchen and service is same as
what TAS teaches.. totally can relate to it..
one of the interesting stuff i learnt was.. about this wine..

you have to handwash ur clothes, do the housework, cook for urself..wash the dishes, hang and iron your own clothes.. Boo..

IF REALLY own apartment i dont mind. but im only a tenant,
i cant on the tv as and when i like, hide in my room like mouse..
They dont cook, so there is no food in fridge tho the fridge is so jumbo-ly big.

when you sick you have to be strong, when u hungry u have to ownself fix it, oh man.. how long am i gonna lead such life... haha.. Im not complaining tho..

but i really wished somehow i stay with my parents.. then maybe i can be more of a
NORMAL teenager/young adult, with home cooked food everyday..

I dint use to appreciate what my parents did, until now.. those kind of nagging, and
food that i dont like.. and kicking me out of bed and forcing me to sleep.. haha..
make u off the tv and go and bathe.. force you to stop using the computer.. haha..
now im totally alone, and yet with another kind of *external* boundaries i cannot overide..

If you still stay with ur parents, or maybe a single parent even..
appreciate them.. EVEN their unreasonable scoldings and outrageous behaviours..
ya.. when you lose it you will want it back i tell you.. haha.!

Apart from cooking, i washed all my dishes properly,

apparently when you translate the name as a pair together..
im called Toshimitsu in jap
the 1st word - meaning Sagacious(wise),
or widely used in Nicknamed style(toshi~) expressing *alert*
and 光 expressing Ray, Light..
either way, i think it has quite some meaning eh..
